ControlledAtmosphere.
Precision DCA technology to extend the post-harvest life of fruit and vegetables, preserving organoleptic quality and commercial value for months.
Stoptheproduct'sbiologicalclock.
Controlled atmosphere allows fruit and vegetables to be stored for months with their organoleptic properties intact. Through rigorous control of O₂, CO₂, ethylene and humidity, we slow down the product's respiration rate.
At Isofred we implement advanced Dynamic Controlled Atmosphere (DCA) systems that adapt in real time to the fruit's metabolic state, enabling ultra-long storage without loss of quality.
Request a technical studyHow we do it.
Ethylene Control
Active removal to prevent accelerated ripening and product ageing.
Ultrasonic Humidification
High relative humidity maintained to prevent dehydration and product weight loss.
Certified Airtightness
Perimeter sealing systems and high-security pneumatic doors to prevent atmosphere leaks.
Productsandapplications.
Apple and Pear (ULO / DCA)
Ultra-long storage of 10 to 12 months for Pink Lady, Fuji, Gala, Golden and Conference. DCA pull-down protocols tailored to each variety and harvest week.
Stone Fruit
Low-O₂ DCA systems for peach, nectarine, plum and cherry. Integrated rapid pre-cooling to lock the metabolism from harvest.
Kiwi and Berries
Micro-atmosphere control with active ethylene removal for Hayward kiwi and blueberries. Senescence losses cut by over 60% compared with a conventional room.
Table Grapes
High-humidity protocol (92-95% RH) with ethylene catalysis. Commercial life extended by more than 8 weeks without loss of firmness or stem browning.
Banana and Tropical Fruit
Controlled atmosphere protocols adapted to banana, mango, avocado and pineapple. Ethylene and temperature control to manage ripening at origin and destination, cutting losses across the chain.

Fruit naturally emits a gas as it ripens. If that gas builds up in the room, it accelerates the ripening of the whole batch. What should last months lasts weeks. We control and remove that gas so the fruit waits at exactly the right point.
Going further, by reducing the oxygen inside the room the fruit breathes more slowly and ages more slowly, just as we sleep better with the windows closed. The practical result is 2 or 3 extra months of shelf life, with better texture and far less waste.
Request a post-harvest studyDCA: Dynamic Controlled Atmosphere
Dynamic O₂ < 1%. The system adapts oxygen levels week by week to the batch's real metabolism. Maximum organoleptic quality after 10-12 months of storage
CO₂ Scrubbing
Active absorption of the CO₂ generated by fruit respiration. Keeps CO₂ within each variety's protocol. Soda lime systems or molecular adsorbers
Ethylene Catalysis
Active removal by catalytic oxidation or potassium permanganate. Ethylene below 0.001 ppm. Halts accelerated ripening and premature product ageing
